His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed the importance of supporting modernization projects in the education sector as well as giving this sector a priority to serve the educational process.

During a visit to the Ministry of Education on the occasion of the beginning of the new scholastic year, the King also looked into plans and projects being carried out by the ministry to achieve his vision on developing the educational system.

His Majesty praised, in his meeting with a number of officials in the presence of the prime minister, chief of the Royal Court and the education minister, accomplishments that have been made especially with regard to the educational projects.

Education Minister Khalid Tuqan presented a briefing on the basic pillars of Jordan's educational system which is based on His Majesty's vision to develop this system and contribute in developing the national economy. He also noted the various projects being implemented by the ministry to develop the education sector in Jordan including the electronic linkage, training teachers and well as developing school curricula.
