His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed that success in fighting terrorism comes through political solution for terrorism roots rather than a security one.



Upon inaugurating an international conference on (The Special Operations in the Modern War and National Defense) at the Meridian Hotel on Monday, the King added that failure to solve the Palestinian issue created despair and frustration, a fact that caused terrorism and extremism in the region.



"Once a just settlement for this issue is reached, we will enjoy a better and secure world and the mission of the special forces will be easier'' the King said.



The regional and international cooperation in the field of exchanging information is an important issue in combating terrorism, because the way is still long to stamp out terrorism.



The King pointed that the special operations' role has increased over the past years and it is expected that this role will be larger in the safeguarding security of state and the region as a whole.



His Majesty the King called for focusing on means to enhance the special forces to face the current and future threats.
