King Affirms Jordan's Commitment to Achieve Security and Stability in Iraq

His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed Jordan's commitment to achieve security and stability in Iraq.



During a meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister Dr. Iyad Allawi on Monday, the King expressed hope that the status of chaos and violence in Iraq will end with a view to hold elections in all Iraqi regions with the participation of all Iraqis.



His Majesty also affirmed Jordan's full support to the Iraqi government in its efforts to reconstruct the country, build institutions and strengthen the unity of the Iraqi territories.



During the meeting, which was also attended by Prime Minister Faisal Fayez and Minister of the Hashemite Royal Court Sameer Rifai, King Abdullah underlined the importance of continuing coordination and consultations between the two countries to achieve the interests of both peoples and support cooperation, particularly in the economic and trade fields.



The Iraqi prime minister for his part, briefed His Majesty on efforts being exerted by the Iraqi government to overcome the current difficult conditions in Iraq. He also expressed appreciation for the role being played by Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty the King to enable Iraq to regain its position as an independent and democratic country that enjoys freedom and prosperity.



Alawi also voiced keenness to strengthen relations between Jordan and Iraq for the interest of both countries.
