King Abdullah visits Riyadh

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday held talks with Saudi King Fahd Bin Abdel Aziz and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdel Aziz on the latest regional developments and means to bolster bilateral ties.



During a several-hour visit to Riyadh, King Abdullah stressed the need to activate the Arab Peace Initiative adopted at the 2002 Beirut summit to end the Arab-Israeli conflict and achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region.



Leaders expressed support for the Palestinian leadership in its efforts to enhance security, build efficient institutions and establish a viable and independent Palestinian state. They also underlined the need to support efforts aiming at pushing the peace process forward on all tracks.



On Iraq, King Abdullah highlighted the necessity of supporting efforts to restore security and stability in Jordan's eastern neighbor, preserving its integrity, and empowering its people to build a better future.



Leaders said they are keen to have a successful Arab summit, scheduled to be held in Algiers. They also voiced hope that the summit would come up with decisions that fulfill the aspirations of the Arab people for peace, stability and welfare.



Talks were attended by HRH Prince Hashem, Prime Minister Faisal Fayez and Jordan's ambassador to Riyadh Quftan Majali.
