His Majesty King Abdullah directed the government to take prompt measures to facilitate the entry and residency of Iraqi citizens in the Kingdom.
Chairing a meeting to review steps to remove potential obstacles to Iraqis' entrance into to Jordan and their residency, King Abdullah said all necessary measures must be taken towards that end.
During the meeting, attended by several officials, Prime Minister Nader Dahabi said the government will swiftly amend procedures to ensure Iraqis smooth entry and stay in the Kingdom.
The King, in the Speech from the Throne at the inauguration of the 15th Parliament's second ordinary session, reiterated that Iraqi residents in Jordan are guests of their fellow Jordanians and that Jordan should take care of them.
A strong, invincible and prosperous Jordan is a Jordan that is able to support and stand by our brothers, whether in Palestine or Iraq, he told lawmakers last year.
