King Abdullah Looks into Report on Investment Attraction

His Majesty King Abdullah II Monday looked into a detailed report prepared jointly by Ministries of Planning and International Cooperation and Telecommunications and IT on Jordan's readiness to attract investments to establishing IT service centers in Jordan.



The report came in response to His Majesty's directives to make Jordan a hub for global IT companies, which are using IT and modern techniques in its telecommunications programs and services. During his recent visit to the US His Majesty the King held meetings with specialized firms in the field of IT and ordered conducting a detailed study on this issue.



The firms expressed their readiness to establish such centers that can increase job opportunities and enhance IT technology transfer to Jordan. His Majesty ordered the Minister of Telecommunications and IT to accredit the recommendations contained in a report made by one of the IT advisory companies on means of creating the most favorable investment climate for these companies. His Majesty also instructed the minister to coordinate with Jordan Telecom to find the best mechanism to reach effective solutions for problems facing potential IT investors in Jordan.
