King Abdullah leaves for US

His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday left for the US on a several-day official visit.



The King is scheduled to meet with President George W. Bush at the White House for talks on means to push the Middle East peace process forward and the situation in Iraq. Both leaders will also discuss means to enhance bilateral ties.



During his visit, King Abdullah will meet with senior Congress members.



His Majesty will deliver a keynote address at Georgetown University in the presence of about 800 prominent international political, economic, cultural and media figures.



The visit comes as part of intensive efforts exerted by His Majesty to push the peace process forward and enhance security and stability in the region.



The King was accompanied by several Royal family members, King's Adviser on Security Affairs, Director of the General Intelligence Department and President of the State Security Council General Saad Kheir, Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai, King's Adviser Akel Biltaji, Foreign Minister Hani Mulki, Finance Minister Mohammad Abu Hammour, and Minister of Industry and Trade Ahmad Hindawi



His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent.
