King Abdullah II receives Spanish Foreign Minister

His Majesty King Abdullah II Tuesday held talks with the visiting Spanish Foreign Minister Anna Palatheo. The talks focussed on bilateral relations between the two countries and the Iraqi crisis backlashes and Arab and international efforts exerted to settle it by peaceful means, in addition to the latest developments on the Palestinian territories.

During the talks, His Majesty stressed the necessity of going ahead in the diplomatic endeavors in order to make the region avert a potential war against Iraq.

His Majesty urged for speeding up implementation of the road map in order to push the peace process between Palestinians and Israelis forward and lifting the Palestinian people's suffering.

Palatheo stressed the necessity to work for solving the Iraqi crisis under the UN umbrella in order to make the region avert wars.

She expressed appreciation on the King's intensive efforts to avert war and to consolidate stability in the region, as well as implementation of the road map as soon as possible.

His Majesty asked Palatheo to convey his greetings to His Majesty King Juan Carlos of Spain, and expressed keenness on further developing relations between the two friendly countries in all fields.
