King Abdullah chairs part of Cabinet session

His Majesty King Abdullah II Tuesday affirmed his confidence in Prime Minister Faisal al-Fayez and members of his government and their efforts to go ahead in implementing their plans and projects according to the letter of assignment. " We are moving in the right path in our economic programs," said King Abdullah while presiding over part of a cabinet session on Tuesday.



He stressed the necessity for the government to take further steps so that the citizen can feel that his living conditions are improving. During the session, which was attended by Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai, called for greater coordination amongst ministries to implement their plans and projects within a specific time frame and reiterated the importance of creating a competitive investment ambiance that could benefit from the stable and secure climate in the Kingdom.



here are still some difficulties and obstacles that impede the work of Arab and foreign companies that are willing to invest in Jordan and these difficulties should be removed soon, King Abdullah said. The King, who expressed satisfaction over the measures taken by the Education Minister regarding the leak of questions of the exam of the General Secondary Education Certificate, instructed the government to facilitate the transport of food supplies sent to Iraq by the UN World Food Program and to reduce customs fees on Iraq-destined goods. For his part Prime Minister Fayez said his government was working to achieve a better economic situation and improve standards of living for all citizens through moving ahead in implementing economic reform plans and providing an ideal environment for investment.



He said after 8 months of the formation of the government, the ministries are now assessing their performance and what has been achieved so far and what should be achieved in the future.
