Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania on Tuesday received the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, who started their visit to Jordan on Monday as part of a regional tour.
During their meeting, Jordanian-British relations and prospects for further cooperation were discussed.
King Abdullah and Prince Charles expressed satisfaction at the level of ties between the two countries, indicating that there are opportunities to improve them to serve mutual interests.
In an expanded meeting with officials from both sides, talks also tackled international issues, Mideast peace efforts and regional developments, with special emphasis on the Syrian crisis.
The meeting was attended by the King’s adviser for religious and cultural affairs and his personal envoy, HRH Prince Ghazi, HRH Princess Wijdan, Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, Director of His Majesty’s Office Imad Fakhoury, Jordan’s Ambassador to Britain Mazen Hmoud, British Ambassador to Jordan Peter Millett and the delegation accompanying the Prince of Wales.
