Jordan receives Libyan army chief

His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday received Libyan army chief Gen. Khalifa Haftar and discussed the latest developments in the region, especially conditions in Libya and ways to deal with them.

The meeting, held at al Husseiniyeh Palace, also addressed anti-terrorism efforts.

King Abdullah stressed Jordan’s continuous keenness to stand with Libya in its endeavours to restore security and stability, and to fight terrorist groups targeting the unity of Libyans and the security of their country.

The King and Haftar also discussed bilateral cooperation, especially in military field.

Senior officials and a delegation accompanying Haftar attended the meeting.
