His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday sent a letter to President of the General Federation of the Labor Unions, Mazen Maaiytah, congratulating the country's 17 labor unions on the occasion of the Labor Day and voicing appreciation for their sincere efforts to build their country and achieve a comprehensive development.

In his letter, His Majesty the King stressed that the National Agenda, expected to be finalized soon, will address all problems facing the labor sector in Jordan and come up with solutions including the creation of new jobs and providing workers with adequate training.

"Fighting unemployment is one of our top priorities," said King Abdullah.

For his part, President of the General Federation of the Labor Unions, Mazen Maaiytah, sent a reply letter to His Majesty King Abdullah voicing appreciation for His Majesty's efforts to upgrade the labor sector and enhance the living conditions of the country's one million workers.
