Jordan, Germany see eye to eye on key issues

His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday met with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and discussed peace efforts and the latest developments in the region.

Discussions covered steps that should be taken to achieve progress in the peace process and end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict according to the two-state formula and within a regional context.

King Abdullah stressed the importance of intensifying international community efforts to launch serious peace negotiations that proceed according to a clear plan and conclude in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel in peace.

The King highlighted the importance of Germany's role in supporting peace efforts to bring stability to the region. Talks also covered bilateral ties and means to boost cooperation in various fields.
