His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday met with former president of the Dominican Republic Leonel Antonio Fernández.
 
King Abdullah voiced appreciation for the selection of the University of Jordan as host of a centre for Latin American studies, a first-of-its-kind in the Arab region. The meeting was attended by Director of His Majesty’s Office Imad Fakhoury,
 
Talks focused on bilateral ties and regional developments. Fernández voiced appreciation for His Majesty’s efforts to enhance ties between the Kingdom and Latin American states.

He also expressed appreciation for the King’s participation in the third summit of South American and Arab Countries (ASPA), which was held in Peru last October.
