Jordan celebrates Army Day, Great Arab Revolt

His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), on Tuesday acted as patron at a ceremony marking Army Day and the Great Arab Revolt.



HRH Prince Faisal, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Khalid Sarayreh, and other senior officers received the King at the Martyr's Monument, where the ceremony was held.



The King decorated several officers and soldiers from the JAF, and the Public Security, General Intelligence and Civil Defence departments with medals in recognition of their dedicated service.



His Majesty the King also honoured army personnel wounded in action and families of peacekeeping force martyrs.



Also today, King Abdullah, accompanied by several members of the Royal family, Prime Minister Adnan Badran, senior officials and officers, attended a military exercise and parade, including a flypast by the Royal Jordanian Air Force.
