His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday said Jordan was capable of overcoming all challenges, particularly economic difficulties posed by fluctuations and hikes in international oil prices.
The King told Premier Marouf Bakhit and Cabinet members at a Royal Court meeting that regional problems will not stop Jordan's development and modernisation drive.
He stressed that the government should continuously work on plans to fight poverty and unemployment and upgrade citizens' living standards.
During the meeting, the King also reviewed government preparations for the We Are All Jordan forum, in which Jordanian officials, MPs as well as political and economic leaders will take part.
A preparatory meeting for the forum was expected to be held on the 12th of this month.
For his part, Bakhit spoke about government plans, saying focus will be on programmes to combat poverty and unemployment.
