His Majesty King Abdullah discussed on Tuesday with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei means to bolster bilateral ties and issues of concern to the Islamic world.
The two leaders agreed to go ahead with signing agreements devised to enhance cooperation in the economic, tourism and defence fields.
They reviewed progress in implementing deals already signed by the two sides concerning investment, education, academic and professional cooperation, Islamic affairs and maritime transportation.
King Abdullah underlined defence cooperation between Jordan and the Asian sultanate, which is interested in buying defence equipment developed by the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB).
Brunei defence officials visited SOFEX, which was held in Amman last month, and had a first-hand look at KADDB's offers.
KADDB is a research and development facility created in 1999 to provide a one-stop solution for the supply of defence and commercial equipment.
It functions as an independent military-civilian agency existing within the Jordan Armed Forces.
Also on Tuesday, King Abdullah and Bolkiah reviewed developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
They urged moderate Islamic countries to play an effective role and support the Palestinian Authority in its negotiations with Israel over the final status issues and extend economic assistance to help the authority improve the living conditions of the Palestinians.
Talks also covered the situation in Lebanon. The two leaders emphasised the need to speed up the election of a president in accordance with the Arab League initiative to settle the crisis in the country, which witnessed unfortunate developments over the past few days.
They also discussed the situation in Iraq and efforts exerted to restore stability and security.
The King, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Rania, arrived in Brunei on Tuesday at the start of a three-day visit. They are due to visit Malaysia in the second and final leg of the Asian tour.
