Amman , Jordan

His Majesty King Abdullah II is scheduled to meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy in Paris on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

Both leaders will discuss the latest developments in the Middle East, especially French support to the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, as well as means to boost Jordanian-French relations.

From Paris, King Abdullah will head for Strasbourg to address a formal sitting of the European Parliament on Wednesday, Dec. 12.

The King's address at the European Parliament comes as part of His Majesty's relentless efforts to rally international support for a just and permanent solution to the Mideast conflict based on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Speaking at the invitation of the European Parliament less than three weeks after an international peace meeting in Annapolis, Maryland, His Majesty will discuss the importance of Europe's role in and continued commitment to solving the Middle East's core issue and most pressing crisis.

The King will also outline a vision for the future of Euro-Arab relations, underscoring prospects for stronger partnership and highlighting the promise future can hold for the peoples of both regions in conditions of peace, stability and security.

During his visit to the European Parliament, His Majesty will also meet with European Parliament President Hans-Gert Pِttering and prominent members of the parliament.

This will be His Majesty's second speech to the European Parliament. He delivered his first speech there in 2002.
