His Majesty King Abdullah Starts State Visit to Britain Tuesday

Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania start a three-day state visit to the United Kingdom on Tuesday during which King Abdullah will be meeting senior British officials for talks focusing on ways to further cement bilateral relations in all fields. On Tuesday, King Abdullah and Queen Rania will be accorded a red carpet reception at Windsor Castle where they will be welcomed by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip as well as senior British officials.

On Thursday King Abdullah will deliver a speech before the British House of Commons where he will be the first Arab leader to address the Houses of Commons and the Lords.

As part of the visit, King Abdullah will hold talks with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, opposition party, and other senior officials on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest. Economic and investment cooperation will be the focus of King Abdullah s talks with British leading businessmen and investors. Queen Rania will visit Child and Youth Centre in the British capital.
