His Majesty King Abdullah II held a number of meetings with political and economic figures taking part in meetings of the World Economic Forum in New York.

His Majesty discussed with World Bank president the support provided by the Bank to the economic change programme which was included in the 2002 budget as well as aid provided by the bank to finance developmental projects in Jordan.

The King thanked the president for supporting the government`s economic programmes as well as its continuous cooperation to make the economic plans success.

The bank is expected to help Jordan in acquiring funds necessary for the implementation of some projects supervised by the King Abdullah Fund for Development.

Meanwhile, King Abdullah met with heads and representatives of some major international companies as well as senior economic figures interested in looking into Jordan`s expertise as well as progress achieved with regard to the economic and social reforms.
