During a visit to Karak Governorate on Sunday, His Majesty King Abdullah issued instructions for the government to study the demands of the area and implement solutions to improve public services to citizens and reduce unemployment.
King Abdullah also listened to the concerns of tribal leaders, officials and representatives from the governorate.
At a ceremony held at Muta University, Karak Governor Fawwaz Rsheidat said there was a need to expand the Karak Public Hospital to treat an increasing number of patients, especially given the growing local population, and to provide residents with better health services.
The governor also underlined the need to create a hotel management school in the area that will serve the tourism sector and create job opportunities.
Reviewing the development projects implemented in the governorate, Rsheidat said 274 projects at a total value of JD40 million were implemented over the past three years, 152 of which took place this year alone, accounting for more than half of development expenditures.
Prime Minister Marouf Bakhit, Lower House Speaker Abdul Hadi Majali, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of- Staff General Khaled Sarayreh joined the King on the visit.
