Forum highlights myriad of ICT opportunities available in Jordan

The Fourth ICT Forum opened at the King Hussein Convention Centre on Wednesday in the presence of Their Majesties King Abdullah and Queen Rania.

Some 600 ICT experts from around the world attended the forum, entitled “Hosting the Future.”

In his opening address, President and CEO of 3Com Edgar Masri said: “Jordan can be the beacon of ICT in the Middle East.”

“The excitement and the drive that Jordan is showing for ICT is giving Jordan a leading role in the Middle East,” he added.

Several sessions were held yesterday, with featured speakers presenting a variety topics related to the industry including the growth of ICT in healthcare, e-learning, the next step in e-government, telecommunications opportunities across the region, and outsourcing trends in the region.

The forum, organized by int@j (Information Technology Association of Jordan) and the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, will conclude tomorrow.
