His Majesty King Abdullah has said "justice is the basis of governance" and progress of communities can't be achieved except through justice, equity and equal opportunities.

Addressing the opening of the first Jordanian Judicial Conference at the Dead Sea resort, King Abdullah said " we will not allow anyone to take the right of another or abuse it and no one will be above the law." It is regrettable to see a small corrupt group tampering with the future of our students who are the future and the capital of the country, said King Abdullah referring to the leak of questions of the state exam of the General Secondary Education Certificate this week. " We will never allow anybody to betray the trust or harm people's confidence in the national institutions," King Abdullah said.

The King, who expressed his pride in the judicial system and its cadre, stressed the importance of preserving independence of the judiciary. One of the important objectives of reform and development is the independence of the judiciary to be able to cope up with the new challenges, King Abdullah said before an audience of judges taking part in the conference.
