His Majesty King Abdullah received at Beit Al Baraka on Monday a delegation comprising several Chinese businessmen participating in the second conference of Arab-Chinese Businessmen.

During the meeting with the visiting delegation, chaired by the deputy president of the Chinese People's National Political Negotiation Conference, Luo Hao Cai, King Abdullah expressed Jordan's appreciation of the Chinese government's encouragement to the private sector to activate its cooperation with businessmen in Jordan and the region.

The King stressed the importance of the role that China plays to support regional issues, especially the Middle East peace process, and described the Chinese interest in regional investments as “strategic”.

“We hope that this visit will promote the commercial bilateral relations that started over 30 years ago, and benefit from the stories of success achieved by Chinese investments in the country,” the King said.

Following the meeting, Arab Business Council Chairman Hamdi Tabbaa, who is also president of the Jordan Businessmen Association, said the King's high expectations about Jordanian-Chinese relations is the main reason behind the Chinese convention of the second conference of Arab-Chinese Businessmen in Jordan.
