His Majesty King Abdullah and Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom discussed on Monday means to develop political ties, regional developments and the European role in the region.
In talks at the Royal Court, the two leaders expressed satisfaction over the development in the bilateral ties in fields of the economy and politics.
King Abdullah and Solyom emphasised their keenness to take measures that ensure better cooperation and open new horizons, especially in the fields of environment, education, tourism, water and investments.
On the peace process, King Abdullah underlined the need for intensifying efforts seeking to push the peace process forward towards a permanent solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of the two-state solution.
The King said the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative offers a proper solution to the conflict and ensures the rights of the Palestinians in building their independent state and regional acceptance and security to Israel.
Solyom said he highly valued Jordan's role in peace making and efforts to bring about security in the area.
During the meeting, which was preceded by a bilateral meeting that was attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania and Hungarian First Lady Erzsébet Solyom, the two sides discussed means to bolster economic cooperation.
