Al Quds University has decided to award His Majesty King Abdullah an honorary PhD for his support for the Holy City of Jerusalem.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the university board of trustees said the honour is in recognition of the King's defence of Palestinians' national and religious rights in the city, his support for the university and efforts to strengthen Jordanian-Palestinian relations.
