His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a phone call with Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman on Monday, discussed ways to reach comprehensive calm in the region.

His Majesty stressed that continued escalations of tensions threaten the security and stability of the entire region, emphasising the importance of urging all parties to exercise restraint and return to negotiations.

The King said peace will not be achieved in the region without a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, on the basis of the two-state solution.

His Majesty reiterated the need to immediately end the war on Gaza, ensure the delivery of sufficient aid to the Strip, and de-escalate the situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
