His Majesty King Abdullah received on Sunday cables of good wishes from several leaders of Arab and Muslim countries as well as senior officials on the occasion of Prophet Mohammad’s birthday, marked on Monday according to the Islamic lunar calendar.

King Abdullah received similar cables from the Prime Minister, Senate president, Lower House speaker, Judicial Council president, Constitutional Court president, the Chief Justice, the grand mufti of Jordan, the army chief and directors of the departments of general intelligence, public security, civil defence, the gendarmerie and the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II also received similar cables on this occasion from senior civil and military officials.

“On the day of Al Mawlid, marking the birth of our great Hashemite grandfather Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, I extend my warmest wishes to the Arab and Muslim nation and to all Jordanians, asking God Almighty to bless us all with prosperity and wellbeing,” the King said in a statement posted on the Royal Hashemite Court’s official Facebook page.

Crown Prince Hussein also wrote: “Wishes of peace and prosperity on Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi #OurJordan” in a post on his official Instagram page.
