King, Belgian monarch discuss ties

His Majesty King Abdullah on Tuesday met with King Philippe of Belgium over bilateral ties and means to boost them at all levels.
 
During the meeting, King Abdullah and King Philippe went over the latest regional and international developments, urging key powers in the international community to boost coordination and cooperation to achieve security and stability in the Middle East and the entire world.
 
Both monarchs also stressed the importance of adopting a holistic strategy to combat extremism and terrorism, which pose a threat to world peace.
 
For his part, King Philippe, whose visit to the Kingdom includes checking on his country’s forces participating in the international anti-terror coalition, voiced his appreciation for Jordan’s role in addressing regional issues and challenges.
 
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat and King Philippe’s accompanying delegation attended the meeting.
