King reviews region, ties with US Congress delegates

His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday received a US Congress delegation headed by Mike Rogers (Alabama - R), and reaffirmed the deep-rooted strategic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting at Basman Palace, King Abdullah expressed Jordan’s pride at the level of relations with the US, which reached advanced stages of continuous cooperation and coordination to serve joint interests.

Discussions also covered the latest regional and international developments and ways to deal with the aim of safeguarding security and stability.

His Majesty also highlighted the major role of the US in various issues.

The King and the delegates stressed the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to combat extremism and terrorism, reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis and supporting endeavours to revive peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis.

The delegates voiced their appreciation for Jordan’s role as an ally and partner in achieving world peace and security, commending His Majesty’s approach to dealing with various issues.

His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein, Royal Hashemite Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh, King’s Office Director Jafar Hassan and US Ambassador to Jordan Alice G. Wells attended the meeting.
