King leaves for three-country tour

His Majesty King Abdullah left on Tuesday for a working visit to Jakarta to participate in the Afro-Asia Summit, which will convene on Wednesday.

The Afro-Asia Summit, which is held once every 10 years, assists Asian and African nations to build stronger partnerships and share experiences to enhance economic development.

King Abdullah will deliver an address at the summit and will meet on the sidelines with several leaders and presidents of participating countries.

In San Francisco, the second leg of the King’s tour, His Majesty will meet with businessmen and representatives of several economic entities.

The King will also pay an official visit to Ottawa, Canada, and meet with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and several other officials.

His Royal Highness Prince Feisal bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent.
