King, Abbas discuss Palestinian elections results

His Majesty King Abdullah and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Thursday discussed the results of the Palestinian legislative elections which witnessed the participation of different Palestinian political forces.



In a telephone conversation, King Abdullah expressed hope that the elections will help rearrange the Palestinian internal affairs, enhance the unity of Palestinian people and build effective institutions that will be able to achieve people's aspirations.



His Majesty the King stressed the importance of pushing peace process forward regardless of the elections results, hoping that elections will be a step towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.



For his part, Abbas expressed appreciation for His Majesty King Abdullah's support for the Palestinian people, pointing out that the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) will respect the results of the elections.
