King, Qadhafi keen on enhancing ties

His Majesty King Abdullah and Libyan President Muammar Qadhafi on Tuesday held talks on bilateral relations and developments in the Middle East.



King Abdullah, who arrived in Libya on a several-hour visit, agreed with Qadhafi to boost cooperation and coordination on regional development.



They said they were keen on enhancing bilateral ties in all fields.



The King stressed the importance of supporting efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region and help Palestinians and Israelis resume negotiations, leading to the establishment of an independent state in line with the roadmap to the Middle East peace process.



The two leaders said they supported efforts by the Palestinian Authority to help create a better future for the Palestinians.



On Iraq, King Abdullah noted that the success of the referendum on the constitution was an important step towards building a secure and stable country.



The talks were attended by Chief of the Royal Court Faisal Fayez and Deputy Director of National Security and acting Director of the King's Office Marouf Bakhit.



Qadhafi hosted an iftar banquet for King Abdullah and delegation.
