His Majesty King Abdullah on Monday discussed the Mideast peace process and Iraq with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and King Hamad Ben Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain.

During the tripartite meeting, the leaders voiced their support for the Palestinian Authority's efforts to enhance security and build institutions that constitute the foundations for an independent state. They called on the international community to support the PA, contributing to a safe and stable life and a better future for the Palestinians.

The three leaders urged the Palestinians and the Israelis to take trust-building measures after the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. They stressed, however, that such pullout should be followed by similar withdrawals from the West Bank in line with the roadmap to Middle East peace process.

During the talks, King Abdullah briefed Mubarak and King Hamad on Jordan's recent efforts to push forward the peace process and encourage Israeli and Palestinian leaders to sit together and try to remove obstacles facing the resumption of dialogue and peace negotiations.

Meanwhile, the three leaders called for engaging all Iraqis in the ongoing political process. They also exchanged views on means to strengthen joint Arab action and address challenges that hinder progress and development in the Arab world.

Mubarak held an iftar in honour of King Abdullah and King Hamad.

The Jordanian delegation included Royal Court Chief Faisal Fayez, Deputy Director of National Security and acting Director of the King's Office Marouf Bakhit and Foreign Minister Farouq Qasrawi.
