His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday called on officials to speed up work on establishing a clear and practical mechanism to train and employ jobless citizens.



Chairing a meeting at the Ministry of Labor, King Abdullah said tackling unemployment requires collective efforts by the public and private sectors.



During the meeting, the King was briefed on a plan by the ministry and the Jordan Armed Forces to establish a fund for the training and employment of jobless citizens.



The project seeks to encourage Jordanians to work for private sector companies and replace foreign labor.
