His Majesty King Abdullah on Thursday met with U.S. Senator Carl Levin, ranking democrat on the Senate's Armed Services Committee, who is touring the region. The King and Levin discussed ways to enhance Jordanian-US ties and the regional situation, especially with regards to the Palestinian-Israeli peace process.



During the meeting the King stressed the importance of US engagement in the peace process. The meeting was attended by U.S. Charge d'Affaires in Amman, David Hale.
