His Majesty King Abdullah is greeted by thousands of Madaba residents during a visit to the city of mosaics. His Majesty the King began his tour by stopping at more than 12 bedouin tents, where notables of the area queued up to welcome him. At the end of the visit, King Abdullah went to Emaddedin Zenki School, one of the Madaba's oldest schools, where he met with some 1,400 inhabitants of the city. The King's visit to Madaba will be followed by visits to other governorates, where he will listen to the concerns of the area residents, a government official said. Located 30 kilometres south of Amman, the city of Madaba is home to over 55,000 inhabitants. It is famous for its mosaics, Roman roads and architecture.
