His Majesty King Abdullah II described his tour to Europe as very successful, pointing out that European leaders showed support and understanding towards regional issues.

At a joint press conference with German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder on Friday, the King said that there is now a "golden opportunity" to achieve just and comprehensive peace between Palestinians and Israelis.

"Sharm Al Sheikh summit was an important step towards pushing peace process forward," said the King, noting that London Conference, scheduled to be held next month, will be key to such efforts.

His Majesty also expressed appreciation for Germany and its efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East and restore stability in Iraq. "We are looking forward to continue your leading role in supporting efforts to achieve peace and restore stability in Iraq," he said.

The King also thanked Germany for its continuous support for Jordan in various fields.

Responding to a question on the Iranian nuclear program, the King said Europeans and Americans should have a unified vision on the way to deal with the issue.

For his part, the German Chancellor welcomed His Majesty's visit to Germany, describing King Abdullah as a friend. Schroeder highly valued Jordan's efforts to restore peace and stability to the Middle East and implement reform and development plans in the Kingdom.

The two leaders' talks, which were attended by Prime Minister Faisal Fayez, Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai, Foreign Minister Hani Mulki and Jordanian ambassador to Berlin Saleh Irsheidat, focused also on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in economic and trade fields.
