King says efforts to push peace process forward should continue

His Majesty King Abdullah stressed the importance of continuing efforts to push peace process forward on all tracks in order to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region.



During a meeting on Wednesday with Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Moratinos, the King stressed that Sharm El Sheikh summit brought momentum to the peace process and provided a real opportunity that should be built on to resume Palestinian-Israeli talks.



On Iraq, King Abdullah highlighted the necessity of supporting Iraqi government to preserve the integrity of the country and build a secure future for Iraqi people.



At the bilateral level, King Abdullah said the formation of a joint Jordanian-Spanish committee reflects the two countries' keenness on developing their relations in all fields. His Majesty stressed the need to engage private sector in both countries in the committee's work in order to launch joint projects and investments.



For his part, the Spanish official stressed that King Juan Carlos and Spanish people are looking forward to His Majesty King Abdullah's upcoming visit to Madrid. He hailed His Majesty's vital role in achieving peace in the region. Moratinos said Madrid is ready to assist Jordan in its reform programs.
