King sends letter to Director of General Intelligence Department

His Majesty King Abdullah II Wednesday sent a letter to the King's Advisor for Security Affairs/ Director of the General Intelligence Department and Rapporteur of the State Security Council General Sa'ed Kheir entrusting him with drawing up a security plan that could cope up with the march of administrative reform and political development and modernization programs being undertaken by the government help progress and prosper and fulfill legitimate hopes of he Jordanian people.



In his letter, King Abdullah expressed deep pride in the Intelligence Department personnel and highly appreciated their diligent, sincere and serious work to safeguard the country and thwart any attempt designed to tamper with its security and stability.


"I am glad to send to you and to the brave men at the General Intelligence Department a greeting of pride and appreciation for your giving and your sincere and serious work, keeping vigilant day and night to safeguard the country's security and to confront anyone attempting to tamper with its stability," King Abdullah said in his letter.



"You and your colleagues and brothers in this department have been up to my expectations and confidence in you and have gifted the country a series of major achievements, only
a few of which have been declared particularly in the recent months, in combating terrorism and encountering terrorists and aborting their criminal plots," the King said.



"Based on our awareness of the unstable and difficult circumstances, the region around us is passing through and being our advisor for security affairs, I entrust you, beside you responsibility, with drawing up a security plan that would cope up with the march of administrative reform, political development, and modernization being carried out by my government," said the King, who bestowed Al-Nahdah (Renaissance) medal of the first order on General Kheir.



In a reply letter, General Kheir said he would obey the King's order to draw up the security plan to realize the King's vision of building a prosperous Jordan. He expressed allegiance and loyalty to the Hashemite throne and to dear Jordan.
