King meets delegation of U.S. Deputies

His Majesty King Abdullah II Sunday met U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee Chairman William Thomas and the accompanying delegation.



The King discussed with the delegation Jordan's efforts to reinvigorate the peace process in the region and brings it back into track with the aim of realizing security and stability in the region.



During the meeting, which was attended by Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Bassem Awadallah and U.S. Charge d' Affaires David Hale, King Abdullah stressed the necessity for a serious international effort to revitalize the peace process.



On the Iraqi affairs, King Abdullah reiterated Jordan's support to efforts designed to strengthen security and stability in Iraq and help the country restore its influential role in the region.



Talks during the meeting also covered ways to enhance bilateral relations particularly in investment and economic spheres.



Members of the U.S. delegation commended King Abdullah's efforts to achieve peace in the region. They affirmed that King Abdullah stands for the voice of wisdom and moderation in the region. They also paid tribute to Jordan's resolve to succeed its its economic and social reform plans.
