King Meets Iraqi Minister of Planning and Development Cooperation

His Majesty King Abdullah II has said Jordan is very keen to succeed all plans designed to rebuild Iraqi institutions and to offer every possible assistance to the Iraqi people.



During a meeting with Iraqi Minister of Planning and developmental cooperation Mahdi Hafez, King Abdullah said "Jordan will continue its contacts with all international powers to drum up support for rebuilding Iraq and relieve its debt burden."



His Majesty noted that coordination with the Iraqi government is being made at the highest level, expressing his support to the convening of the joint Jordanian-Iraqi Higher
Committee in mid of next October in Amman. The committee is expected to discuss means of enhancing economic and security cooperation.



During the meeting, which was attended by Royal Court Minister Samir Rifai and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Basem Awadallah, Hafez highly appreciated Jordan's brotherly stand in supporting the Iraqi government's plans to build a democratic country.



He also thanked His Majesty King Abdullah for his efforts with the international powers and donor countries to help Iraq surmount the current hardships.
