His Majesty King Abdullah II met on Sunday with a US Congress delegation currently on a visit to the Kingdom within a tour to the region. During the meeting, which was attended by Minister of the Hashemite Royal Court, Sameer Rifai, Foreign Minister, Dr. Marwan Muasher and the US ambassador to Jordan Edward Gnehm, His Majesty reviewed Jordanian-US ties as well as the situation in Iraq.



The King affirmed to the delegation the importance of the US economic aid to Jordan in helping it to implement its developmental plans and programs. "This aid enabled Jordan to overcome the difficult economic situation that resulted from the regional circumstances," he added.



The delegation comprises Tom Daschle, Joseph Biden and Graham Lindsey.
