His Majesty King Abdullah and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak discussed ways to coordinate their stand in supporting the Palestinians to get rid of the deteriorating situation that have plagued Palestinian security and civil institutions due to Israel's continuous siege inhuman daily practices against the Palestinian people.

The two leaders, who came to Tunis to take part in the Arab summit currently held in Tunis, stressed the necessity to crystallize ways and means to assist Palestinian brothers in building their institutions and train the police personnel to be able to preserve security in the Palestinian land. They also discussed topics on the summit agenda and affirmed their keenness to ensure success to the summit to come up with resolutions that could help consolidate Arab solidarity and the joint Arab action.

In a related development, King Abdullah held talks with Palestinian Foreign Affairs Minister Nabil Shaath and Minister of Negotiations Affairs Sa'eb Erakat. The talks centered on ways to help the Palestinians build their institutions, where King Abdullah asserted Jordan's readiness to offer all forms of assistance to the Palestinian people to help them develop their institutions.

Shaath briefed King Abdullah on the outcome of the recent meeting in Berlin between Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia and U.S. National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice. Shaath highly appreciated the effort, which yielded fruit in opening a dialogue between the Palestinians and the U.S. Administration that would hopefully bring the peace process back into track and put an end to the cycle of violence in the Palestinian territories.
