King Receives Swedish Foreign Minister

His Majesty King Abdullah II received Tuesday Swedish Foreign Minister Laila Freivalds, who is currently visiting Jordan to discuss ways of cooperation and mechanisms of developing bilateral relations between Jordan and Sweden, in addition to the current situations in the region.



During the meeting, which was attended by Minister of the Royal Court Samir Al Rifai, Foreign Minister Marwan Muasher and the Swedish Ambassador in Amman, the King reviewed efforts exerted to relaunch the Middle East peace process.



The King expressed his appreciation of the Swedish and EU role to support efforts of reviving the peace process and keeping the roadmap as a base for solution.



His Majesty affirmed that despite the complicated circumstances in the region as a result of what is happening in Palestine and Iraq, efforts should be pursued in order to find political solutions to these two issues that fuel violence in the region.



On her part, Freivalds affirmed that her country and the EU share the same standpoint with Jordan to settle the Palestinian issue according to the roadmap, which has gained an international consensus.
