King Opens SOFEX 2004

His Majesty King Abdullah II the Supreme Commander of the Jordanian Armed Forces, opened on Tuesday the fifth Special Operation Forces Exhibition, SOFEX 2004 which is held at King Abdullah Airbase in Marka Airport.



Deputy of HRH Prince Faisal for SOFEX 2004's affairs retired Major General Suleiman Al Manaseer said that the exhibition springs out from His Majesty King Abdullah's visions to contribute to building an industrial national base that leads to an advanced and developed future.



In the opening ceremony, which was attended by Prime Minister/Minister of Defense Faisal Al Fayez, Commander of the Jordan Air Forces/President of the higher committee of SOFEX 2004 HRH Prince Faisal Ben Al Hussein, HRH Princess Aysheh bent Al Hussein, HRH Prince Rasheb Al Hassan, Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament Abdul Hadi Al Majali, Minister of the Royal Court Sameer Al Rifai and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Staff General Khaled Jamil Al Sarayreh, Manaseer said that the exhibition embodies the ambitions of Jordan and its leader in a modern vision that goes in line with the technology age.



King Abdullah and the visitors toured the various sections of the Exhibition and looked into the displayed equipment and combat service support systems used by special forces along with other military equipment including surveillance devices, communications systems, military vehicles and aircraft. Land navigation systems and peacekeeping equipment.
