King Abdullah II meets American Vice President and Canadian Prime Minister

His Majesty King Abdullah II on Friday
met with American Vice President Deck Cheney who is participating
in WEF in Davos.


Discussions focused on the current situations in Iraq and Palestine
, in addition to bilateral relations , where His Majesty expressed
appreciation on the American role in helping Jordan improve its
economic situations and going on in comprehensive development.

His Majesty affirmed the necessity to keep Iraq's integrity
and sovereignty and to prepare proper ambience for the return
of sovereignty to the Iraqis soon.


Cheney expressed the American government's appreciation on
the Jordanian efforts to train Iraqi cadres of police , military
and diplomats.


He stressed the importance of the Jordanian role in achieving
peace in the region.


His Majesty met also with Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin
where they reviewed peace efforts in the Middle East.


King Abdullah stressed the importance of supporting the Palestinian
government of Ahmed Qurei in order to be capable of a carrying
out its duties in the Palestinian territories and achieve peace.


The two sides discussed also economic relations between the
two countries, where His Majesty expressed looking forward to
sign a free trade agreement with Canada like that with USA, especially
as Canadian investment have begun to come to Jordan , such as investment
in the Potash company.
