King Meets OIC Secretary General

His Majesty King Abdullah II received on Sunday at Beit Al Barakah the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Secretary General Abdul Wahed Balqaziz where he affirmed Jordan's support for activating the OIC's role and developing the mechanisms of its work.



During the meeting, which was attended by Minister of the Royal Court Minister, Foreign Minister and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the King noted that the challenges confronting the Islamic nation entails enhancing the OIC's role and activating its performance.



The King pointed that Jordan supports all ideas and proposals aimed at developing the OIC's work to clarify the true image of Islam and defends the nation's issues.



For his part, Balqaziz expressed his appreciation to King Abdullah's efforts in the international scene to expound the message of Islam, particularly after Sep. 11 events. He praised Jordan's cooperation with the OIC, noting that Jordan is a model for Islamic moderation.
