His Majesty King Abdullah II returned to Amman on Tuesday after a working visit to the United States and Britain, that came within efforts being exerted by His Majesty to support the peace process, and rally support for the position of the Palestinians towards the Middle East peace process.

During his several-day visit, His Majesty affirmed in his talks with US President George Bush, that the difficult situation the Middle East is passing through, requires more efforts and dialogue to solve the outstanding issues, and ease the suffering of the Palestinian
people.

The King also warned against the dangers of the separation wall being constructed by Israel on the future of the Palestinian state and its impact on Jordan.

During his talks in London with the British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and in the United States, with US Secretary of State Colin Powell, National Security Advisor, Codaleeza Rice, and members of the US Foreign Affairs Council, King Abdullah stressed the importance of keeping the roadmap alive, affirming that this plan still forms the base for peaceful solution.

In an interview with the Cable News Network (CNN), His Majesty warned of the dangers of putting obstacles on the path of the peace process, noting in this regard the continuation of the Israeli settlement policy and the construction of the separation wall, which he said
will be catastrophic for all.

Due to the fact that Jordan views the success of the Palestinian government under Ahmed Qurei as vital to efforts that aim at putting the peace process back on its proper track, and rally more international support to the Palestinian people, the King was keen to affirm during
his meeting with US officials and during his press meetings, to give chance to the Palestinian prime minister through putting an end to the Israeli settlement policy, the construction of the separation wall, the assassination policy and easing the daily suffering of
the Palestinian people.

On the Iraqi file, His majesty affirmed the importance of a quick
reconstruction of the Iraqi institutions as well as the need to give
more powers to the Iraqis, indicating that this would contribute
to restoring peace and stability in Iraq, and help the Iraqis to gain
liberty and independence.

Within His Majesty's efforts to present the true image of Islam
and establish bridges of confidence and understanding between the
west and the east, the King affirmed before 400 members of the New
York Police Department, that our Islamic faith urged its followers
to adopt the path of tolerance and good intentions and its ordered
us to implement justice and respect the others.

The King's various meetings with a number of US officials contributed
to increasing Jordan's share of the US aid. Jordan will receive an
additional JD100 million in 2004 that is added to the aid that was
previous announced for the same year.

The US aid to Jordan amounted to JD450, including JD250 as economic
aid and JD200 as military aid.
