King Receives Iraqi Electricity Minister

His Majesty King Abdullah II affirmed Jordan's full support to efforts that aim at reconstructing Iraq, and enabling it to assume its important role on the Arab and international levels.



During a meeting with the Iraqi Electricity Minister Ayham Samira'i at Bait Al Baraka on Wednesday, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and trade Dr. Mohammad Halaiqa, and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Azmi Khreisat, King Abdullah affirmed Jordan's readiness to provide every possible assistance to Iraq especially with regard to reconstructing and operating electricity power plans in the country.



Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Azmi Khreisat said that an office at the National Electricity Company will be established as a data center for electricity projects in Iraq. He also expressed the government's readiness to provide training to the Iraqi cadres in this field.



The Iraqi minister for his part, expressed appreciation of the Iraqi people to efforts being exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah for the sake of the Iraqi cause. He also noted the King's efforts with the various international parties that aim at enabling the Iraqi people to manage their own affairs, build their institutions, and chose the leadership and the form of government they want.
